Faculty Member, Philosophy
Senior Lecturer and Director of Postgraduate Studies
About
I joined the Department of Philosophy at the University of Leeds in the fall of 2005. Before my move to Leeds, I taught at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. And before that, I did my PhD at Rutgers University. My current interests include the imagination, experimental aesthetics, the ontology of the multiple arts, the semantics of aesthetic adjectives, and the aesthetic issues raised by comics and the short story. I am an officer and the Treasurer of the British Society of Aesthetics and am a former Trustee of the American Society for Aesthetics. Here at Leeds, I am Director of Postgraduate Studies for the Department of Philosophy and the School of Humanities. I also co-direct the Popular Cultures Research Network.
