She holds a first degree in Political Science from Panteion University (Athens), a Master’s degree (MA) in Political Theory from Essex University and a Master's degree (MA) in Security & Justice from the University of Leeds.
Since 2009 she has been collaborating on a regular basis, as a research associate and as a political and policy advisor, with members of the Greek Parliament and with governmental bodies (such as, ministries, general secretariats, etc.). In this framework, she has worked as special advisor at the Greek Ministry of Citizen Protection, in charge of a project to reform the educational system of the Greek Law Enforcement Forces. In addition, from March 2015 to May 2016, Dora has served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA). Since February 2017 she has been teaching at the National Security School of the Greek Police Force.
She has participated, as a researcher and trainer, in a variety of national and European programmes on Youth, as well as in programmes on Security, Intercultural Education and Human Rights (with an emphasis on the training of personnel in law enforcement agencies).
She is a member of the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) Pool and National Representative in the European Commission’s Expert Group on Youth Work for Migrants and Refugees.

Το φαινόμενο της ριζοσπαστικοποίησης αποτελεί σήμερα κεντρικό ζήτημα στην παγκόσμια πολιτική ατζέντα, με το ενδιαφέρον να εστιάζεται στην περίπτωση της θρησκευτικής ριζοσπαστικοποίησης και της Ισλαμιστικής τρομοκρατίας. Η ακαδημαϊκή κοινότητα έχει επικεντρώσει τις προσπάθειές της στον προσδιορισμό των παραγόντων και των μηχανισμών της ριζοσπαστικοποίησης, ιδίως εκείνων που οδηγούν στον βίαιο εξτρεμισμό και την τρομοκρατία. Η άσκηση αυτή αποδεικνύεται εξαιρετικά δύσκολη εξαιτίας του πολυπαραγοντικού χαρακτήρα της ριζοσπαστικοποίησης και του ιδιαίτερα ποικιλόμορφου προφίλ των ατόμων που εμπλέκονται σ’ αυτήν. Στην παρούσα εργασία, αναδεικνύεται η σημασία των διαφορετικών (εν δυνάμει «υποστηρικτικών») περιβαλλόντων της ριζοσπαστικοποίησης ενώ, επιπλέον, παρουσιάζονται ορισμένες από τις κυριότερες θεωρητικές προσεγγίσεις του φαινομένου προκειμένου να διαφανεί η ποικιλία και η αλληλόδραση των παραγόντων που το προσδιορίζουν. Στην συνέχεια, εξετάζεται διεξοδικά η συμβολή του διαδικτύου, ως «υποστηρικτικό περιβάλλον», στη διαδικασία της ριζοσπαστικοποίησης και της στρατολόγησης, απ’ όπου προκύπτει το συμπέρασμα ότι ο ρόλος του είναι τελικά περισσότερο «διευκολυντικός» παρά καθοριστικός.

Abstract
Τhe phenomenon of radicalization is now a central issue on the global political agenda, with the emphasis placed mainly on the case of religious radicalization and Islamist terrorism. The academic community has focused its efforts on identifying the factors and mechanisms of radicalization, especially those leading to violent extremism and terrorism. Indeed, this exercise has proved very difficult due to the multifactorial nature of radicalization and the great variety of profiles of people involved in it. This essay highlights the importance of different (potential ‘supportive’) environments of radicalization whilst also presenting some of the main theoretical approaches of the phenomenon in order to indicate the variety and interaction of radicalization factors. Then, it thoroughly examines the contribution of the internet, as a ‘supportive environment’, in the process of radicalization and recruitment; our conclusion is that the internet has a more ‘facilitating’ rather than a decisive role.

Between the summer of 2015 and early 2016, an unprecedented number of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers, mainly Syrian, passed through the Greek border with Turkey, landing on the island of Lesvos. This article recognizes the failure of Europe's haphazard patchwork approach to migration, asylum, and refugees in light of the ongoing politics and strategies for dealing with the humanitarian crisis. The article focuses both on top-down policies, namely those agreed by the European Union (EU), Turkey, and those instigated by the Greek state, and bottom-up practices such as those put in place by ordinary individual volunteers and civil society organizations. The article offers evidence and perspective for legislators, academics, and the wider public on the complexities of addressing large scale humanitarian crises with scarce resources while effectively managing the security concerns.

The objective of this article is to explore existing policies related to youth in Greece. In particular, we describe the youth policies in the public sector including leisure, education, employment and entrepreneurship, citizenship and political participation. Moreover, we refer to the programs aimed at young people, and the role of Civil Society. Finally, we evaluate the consequences of the current hegemonic constellation that emerged through the global markets, the E.U. and the neoliberal political forces in Greece for youth policies and young people.
