About

I work on an AHRC project researching 19th-century annotated editions of string chamber music  - these are invaluable sources of information about 19th-century performance practices. I'm a cellist, formerly principal no.2 in the Orchestra of Opera North for 28 years, and now playing with the Ferdinand David Quartet and doing some occasional freelancing. MyPhD's on 19th-century cello performance practice, but I'm also active in the field of Baltic music, especially the Lithuanian composer Ciurlionis, and I teach opera studies for Rose Bruford College.
