About
I am currently undertaking PhD research at the University of Leeds, where I am employed as a Research Associate.
My PhD investigates the representation of Council Estates in theatrical performance. At present I am looking at the ways in which Henri Lefebvre's model of social space might be applied to performance practices surrounding the place of the Council Estate. My thesis asks how Council Estates are lived, represented and produced through performance practices.
I have published articles on my research in Research in Drama Education (2011)volume 16 issue 3
(access at: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13569783.2011.589999),
and the Journal of Applied Arts and Health (2011) vol 2 issue 3

I acted as conference organiser for the 2012 conference 'Re-evaluating the Postcolonial City: production, reconstruction, representation' (http://thepostcolonialcity2012.wordpress.com/). I am currently part of the sub-committee for PSi #18, which will be held at the University of Leeds in June/July 2012.
As part of my role I act as a 0.5 Teaching Fellow within the School of Performance and Cultural Industries. My duties include teaching on both practice-based and theoretical modules across the School. I also act as International Co-ordinator for the School.
