About
I studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at the University of Cambridge, and Medieval Studies at the University of Aberdeen.
I'm currently engaged in a part-time PhD at the University of Leeds on pilgrims and pilgrimage in the Holy Land between the fall of Jerusalem in 1187 and the fall of Acre in 1291. I'm particularly interested in changes to the sites of pilgrimage, cross-cultural influence on western pilgrimage, and routes through the Holy Land.
I used to fund my PhD by working for the International Medieval Congress, Leeds (http://www.leeds.ac.uk/ims/imc/), but I've moved over to the dark side (science) and I now do administration for the National Centre for Atmospheric Science.
I'm also a postgraduate member of the Society for the Study of the Crusades and the Latin East (SSCLE - http://www.staff.u-szeged.hu/~capitul/sscle/) and the Ecclesiastical History Society (EHS - http://www.history.ac.uk/ehsoc/)
