About
I am interested in emerging research into the cognitive and social potential of music in education, particularly for children with specific learning needs. My research focusses on mainstream education rather than special schools and how music can help address the educational challenges teachers face in providing inclusive and creative education for pupils with specific learning needs.
My AHRC funded PhD research builds on an exploratory study I conducted for my MA which investigated the use of multi-sensory music in a mainstream Learning Support Unit.
