About
My research is focussed primarily on understanding the historical development and interaction of the communities of Boiotia in central Greece, using a detailed understanding of the physical environment as a foundation. Through looking at the development of the area in detail over several centuries and more broadly over la longe durée, I hope to be able to construct a model of epichoric history that allows the lacunae in the traditional evidence of this important area to be overcome. To do this it will be necessary to employ much theory and methods from outside Classics, particularly those of postmodern geography and social sciences.
